People (in the comments): The US senate is a bunch of idiots, clowns, and crooks.
John Fetterman: Wearing a hoodie, while calling an Uber. I will press on pressing, swirling, always moving sideways and upwards, or downwards, but never backwards. For you now, enjoy the Big Mac, just a little. Tomorrow is one day after the day following the day before today. Thank you for this award.
Countless People: Look at him! He’s dressed like my garbage person, whose pronouns I realize I am unsure of! Worse, he looks like my lazy, slovenly son! He isn’t showing the senate the respect it deserves!
Me: He actually is showing the requisite amount of respect. None. Does this eternal group of idiots, clowns, and crooks deserve your respect? Also, the hoodie only has two sleeves, that don’t tie in the front, like the rest of his “jackets.” Give the guy a break. Buttons are complicated.
When a kid gets kicked out of middle school for wearing a t-shirt with, Don’t Tread on Me! that’s considered protected speech, but, when a senator shows up to the senate looking like he’s there to rob the place, it’s suddenly an issue of respect? He’s got a job to do: rob the place and blame the guy who was here before him. It’s called government. He’s dressed appropriately.
Why are so many of the people who claim to support personal liberties and freedoms, readily showing support for enforcing a stupid ad hoc dress code that is designed to do exactly the opposite?
I’m asking for a friend. He’s a weird bastard with a bum leg. Always complaining about his bum leg. That guy… he just drives me so crazy. Sorry, I couldn’t hop on the train on account of my bum leg. I would have been here sooner, but my bum leg was acting up again. I hate that guy so much, I don’t know why I still hang out with him. Shhh. Don’t look! Here he comes now.
Maybe it isn’t the senate you think Fetterman is disrespecting? Do you think he’s disrespecting, you? The audience at home? Well, that’s just stupid. Why would you deserve respect from someone you never met, never voted for, and whose views don’t reflect your own?
