When I was in high school, I had an English teacher named, Joyce, first name, Mrs. Every day for the 50 minute duration of class, she would drone on and on about the dark societies of Dostoevsky, Saljinizin, Orwell, and that guy who died in the Nazi concentration camps for saying everyone was stupid, Dietrich “Detroit” Bonhoeffer.
At the time, when I was in high school, I was more interested in the ongoings of the various social affairs that immediately pertained to me, and suffering oppression from a dictatorial authoritarian socialist regime was low on my radar for threats against humanity. Also, it was all so booooring.
Older now, but not significantly wiser, reassessing the intellectual aspects of the message, watching historical documentaries, exploring the long-term implications of what they were all saying, well, it opened my eyes. Now I recognize the social commentary for what it really means, and I get it. It’s still really, really boring; I was right all along.
Seriously, though? How many words does it take to say that 99% of people just want to live in peace, and enjoy each other’s barbecue, and 1% are sad, power hungry schmucks who want to control the universe, and it’s our responsibility to stop them? Until we stop them, and kill them, they will keep existing and ruining our lives. Enough said.
There, I’ve summarized the complete written works of all of them, plus a few others, in a single paragraph. Rise up, break the chains. There are more people than you might think who realize the power balance is tilting in the wrong direction. Up and at them!

Can I bring my pitchfork?
If you feel you must, but there won’t be much opportunity for gardening.
