Inside Doug's Head

It is never too late to become wise.

Robertson Davies is dead. If Trump really wants Canada, A, all he would have to do is one simple thing that Queen Victoria figured out a long time ago with India.

Give every Canadian US citizenship, unconditionally. They will say they are too “loyal” to accept it, but historically, the Loyalists got the end of the stick with the wet sponge used to wipe the buttocks.

The three ardent holdouts in PEI, vowing to fight to the death for Canadian sovereignty, can be persuaded by the lower prices of American milk and tobacco. Or, the military can make short work of them and their boards with nails. Scurvy and beards are no match for bayonets and an M4.

Once all Canadians become US citizens and Canada is emptied of its population (they will be naturally drawn to the warmer weather and racism of the south), Governor Trudeau will have no people left to govern. He will have to drive himself to his playdates with Castro.

Yeah, Alberta and Saskatchewan are going to preemptively leave Canada behind to join the US, and they will thank the cunning linguists of Quebec for setting the Supreme Court precedent years ago and paving the way for provincial separatism and sovereignty. Ontario won’t be able to support the National idea, and BC and the maritimes will shrug shoulders, “Whatever. We never had a say; the game was rigged since Monday, July 1st, 1867”

Be warned, though, Mr. President. Just as the Queen of England once gave all of India and Pakistan British citizenship so that she would have dominion over them all, there was no guarantee they would stay where they were.

Can you imagine? A mass legal invasion from the North, millions of ignorant people demanding their pogey, work subsidies, and seasonal unemployment benefits. It would bankrupt America. Canada’s hard working intelligentsia left decades ago under various free trade deals with the US. The government was warned, but what’s left is the unsustainable bundles of rejects. The grave diggers and the dirt robbers living cheque to cheque (check to check) one carbon tax rebate to the next.

Careful what you wish for. It might be easier to let them all die off in the cold and frozen tundra than to welcome them with open arms.
